I to had experienced such problems many times. At some petrol bunks this happens but goes unnoticed. Modus operandi is when we stop at petrol bunks to refill petrol is as follws: 1) person at filling machine will ask how much to fill. 2) as soon as we tell him, cash collector will divert your attention by asking the same question and demand for money. 3)By the time all this happens filling of petrol commences and it will show 1 litter+. If you happen to keep track of millage from recent empty tank or reserve position you will know, otherwise you only get a doubt about the short filling. From this we have to learn a lesson by not getting diverted and be sure that the meter is zeroed and then only filling commences. Apart from this in places where there is no rush, they also remove petrol from the pipe when the macine is idle. Then they wait to fill petrol to the next customer whose requirement is more. They send the customer whose requirement is less to another machine point. It is we who have to be vigil at such petrol bunks. This modus operandi is common in few petrol bunks. Bhasker. 29.09.2009
