MTR Restaurant

Went to MTR this weekend. The food taste is good, and the variety is also excellent. Its definitely worth a try

If you are going there for the first time, its important to know these info:
a) There is no parking space in front of the hotel even for one two wheeler, and the road is a one way. You need to navigate quite a bit to find a parking space nearby
b) Lunch is from 12:30 to 2:45. Book it and go, otherwise its really really crowded.

the food served is not upto its taste and quality the value for money is very less and ofcourse the food is expensive and not tasty...

Yes, MTR is completely overated - the food is just average, you could just go to any other Darshini Kind os place and eat the same quality food. I've eaten several times at MTR and I do no think the experience was anything out of the ordinary. Sorry, maybe in the past it may have served royalty et al.. but dudes snap out of it...

Quite frankly I think they just create a sense of premium value by making folks wait (no, I've never had to wait more then 10 minutes so far & believe me I never would) before they are served, this kinda ensures that there's a lot of people outside in the waiting rooms...etc...

OK, so here's what I think:

Food - average
Ambience - huh, what that? well, dingy ?
Service - fast once you get seated (well, they want u out equally quick:)
wallet - light
parking - your problem, we have enough peeps waiting...
USP - its an institution - seriously they gottta be in one :)

I agree with the previous reviewer. MTR takes the award for the most over-rated restaurant in Bangalore. We had to wait for two hours for food even though we came early and got the "food tickets" for 1pm we were told that we were supposed to come up and register for 1 pm, we were served at 2:30 pm.

The food was decent and they add Sodium bicarbonate to the rice so that you can't eat too much. The guy who was serving us told us that we should not sit in-front of each other, but, next to each other so that two more people could sit on out table. The idea is, if you sit in front of each other you talk more and hence take more time eating. Even though I didn't eat too much my stomach felt very full.

The staff is cold if not rude. This is definitely not the place to goto, even "only for the food." I'd much rather go to vidhyarthi bhavan.

I have been visiting with family every time I go to Bangalore. With changing times, the restaurant hasnt been able to come up to my expectations of cleanliness, hygiene and service. However, I do find the quality of food good and tasty. If only the management were to do something about hygiene, ambience etc, the way MTR processed foods does, I would love to go back again.
