MTR Restaurant

If you have already visited MTR in 80s,then you better Ple don'tmake a visit again,now it will ruin your past memories, If you are new to Bangalore who hasn't gone for MTR for a while, please avoid MTR!! MTR served outstanding food up to about late 80s. Now, the food is of poor quality and the service, well the less said about it is better. If you want to eat dosa, Vidyarthi Bhavan, perhaps, is your best bet.

Dosa and Upma will be very nice in MTR hotel..........

I being a bangalorean have visited this hotel plenty of times from the past 25 years.Its located in the stretch between Lalbagh main gate and Urvashi theatre(this stretch always has peak traffic).Though its located in a traffic zone,though vehicle parking is not that easy but still I dont stop going to this hotel MTR and I am sure there are lots of people in the city,who just feels like me. As soon as we enter this hotel,we need to register our name and number of seats in the waiting list, then we need to wait in the waiting room.It ll take about 30 - 60 minutes approx. to get once turn.Unlike other hotels,though,we need to wait here for a pretty longer duration but still, not many crib about it. Now,coming to the food,the quality of the food is absolutely outstanding and MTR has always maintained consistency in quality and taste.These people are specialists in Rava Idli(around Rs.18-00),Dosa(around Rs.25-00),Poori,Kharabath,sweets & south indian meals(around Rs.85-00...available only during specific timings). Not many miss the deserts here especially the fruit salads and ice creams...Hmmm Yummy!!! These people are very clean and maintain cleanliness in every small thing.They wash all the plates and vessels with hot water to avoid communicable diseases.There is no need for one to be skeptical about cleanliness of this hotel. 3 cheers to MTR!!! Food in MTR is decent. I went there with lot of expectations. Big hype was there as people were rushing to get coupons and it was very hard to get into the restaurant amid a big crowd. When we were waiting for our turn few kids near me were shouting 'Papa Hungry!'.. The waiting time is killing.. I had lunch there and it was ordinary.. But i was not satisfied fully as the taste was not upto the hype.. Can go once..
