MTR is often told to be one of the must visit places in B'lore.You'll be fine as long as you reserve your table in advance and keep your expectations low. They have no parking space, so be ready for that as well.The food is good but nothing mind blowing.I've heard that they used to have a lot more variety and used to serve the juice in silver glasses and all, but I guess that has ceased to be viable for them.Value for money and maybe worth a visit once, but definitely not a must.

MTR takes the award for the most over-rated restaurant in Bangalore. The place may have been worth its hype 2 decades ago but there were probably 20 eating joints in Bangalore. The wait times are unreasonable, the parking non-existent, the food is half-decent, the ambience dark, rushed and crushed. Unlike some of the other "heritage" places you do not have the option of sitting around chatting. Go to your neighbourhood Nandhini, they have faster service and their Thali rocks. If i want heritage, i will go to a museum or a monument not a restaurant. And not MTR definitely.

MTR besides its rush, unstrategic location and old style is still a great place to go for a really comprehensive south Indian meal. The endless flow of food is a great treat for the connoisseur.

MTR is known to serve quality food. The food in general is good. Having said that I would say that this place is wayyyyy overrated.

I m sure this would have been the most amazing place 15 years back when there were not many restaurants serving quality food (emphasis on quality). I find this place, not having adapted to times. The wait times are awful and the place is dingy. If you go there for lunch - you have to give up your dignity practically. Wait times are about 1 to 1.5 hours, people trample all over each other to get coupons and what not.

The guys who run it have the attitude of - We are like this only. So you deal with it .

Overall the food is good but the experience has been lousy. I would say that this place is way overrated and hyped. I don t think I will go back again.
