At first glace, I was quite impressed by the ambiance. The menu card is very creatively designed as well. We ordered Vodka based Pani Puri and it tasted quite bad according to me. We then ordered a panner based starter and it was awesome. The panner melts in your mouth. We had Kadi Pakodi and Chawal, which was well done. We were taken care of by a guy called Alfred and he was very hospitable and helpful and not the types who are just interested in forcing you to order the most expensive dish on the menu. Oye! Shabaaashe. Mainu vada changa laga ji.
I like the dhaba kind ambiance, food and less spicy preparations.
Generally on the name of North indian food chefs end up making paste of chilli and garlic but here its different. one must visit the place to believe it.
we went there based on the Times Fod guide recommendation of this being among the top 5 Punjabi restaurants in Bangalore. we were somehow pretty disappointed. the service was sloppy and the food mediocre .... not sure if we will go back .... dont know if it was a bad day for the chef or we ordered bad :-(
...and then one day, I went to Oye Amritsar. The Makki da Roti with Sarson da Saag is just awesome here. And so is the Lassi they serve in king size tumblers.
