Vidyarthi Bhavan

My first visit to Vidyarthi Bhavan was in 1956 or so when my father took me to this restaurant, first complaining that it was not so clean but later both of us enjoying Masala Dosa. Later when I went to National High School I used to save money to go to this hotel and savor Masala dosa. Later when I was in National College, I used to spend all my lunch money (which was not much) at Vidyarthi Bhavan eating Masala dosa. In those five years the taste remained the same ie.delicious.During later years my friends and myself used to frequent to this restaurant very frequently since we lived in Chamarajapet. Even now whenever I visit India, I make it a point to eat at Vidyarthi Bhavan and MTR a few times during our visit. I can easily say that when it comes to Masala Dosa and Chutney Vidyarthi Bhavan stands out and MTR is a distant 2nd or 3rd. This is after 50+ years of eating Masala dosa either regularly or occasionally the taste still is the same. My next trip to India is during Christmas time and looking forward to eat Masala Dosa at Vidyarthi Bhavan after visiting National High School and National College.

After hearing about Vidhyarthi Bhavan from one and all, finally i went for a morning breakfast, and it was as expected too full. Given the high expectations, the end product did not give me great satisfaction. -shivashankar

Most delicious Dosa. Even today ( I am 72 ) I make it a point to visit to V B whenever I happen to visit Bengaluru.Perhaps for posterity they maintain the same homely ambience even now.

Vidyarthi bhavan taste of dosa is great,The chutny given along with it is simply superb.Now i am 63yrs old i started eating from 1960 onwords when the rates were 25ps/dosa.even today on every sunday,i drive down to vidyarthi bhavan with my grand children.The best part of it is isit on the same chair&tbl,wich i used from my younger days.

The taste of dosas in vidyarthi bhavan is good and same taste is being maintained over the past 60 years. I am a senior citizen, and make it a point to visit the hotel whenever i visit Bengaluru. Taste is an individual perception and some people may not like the taste. Regular customers like me are addicts !!!
