"HSB- Day Light Robbers"

I have been a regular customer of HSB for the past two decades. The food quality is very good in all their branches, but the quantity they serve is so less that even two dosas will not be enough for an adult.
As regards pricing, HSB thinks that all their customers are techies/business people, earning fanciful salaries and since they have successfully built a brand name, they can charge anything they want for the stuff they sell. This high pricing has been brought to the notice of the management many times, but like politicians and bureaucrats they are insensitive to the public/customers opinion. The management dose not realizes that they are loosing their regular customers. My family used to visit HSB once a month, now it is once in six months or more. They are not bothered if they loose their regular customers, for every customers lost, five new ones troop in. As long as there is no real competition from other hotels which can offer good food, good ambience, at reasonable cost, the HSB chain of hotels will rip of the middle class charging Rs 90 for a Masal Dosa, and Rs.55 for 4 onion Bajjis, which is a little bigger than a peanut!! The problem with this kind of business is the management thinks that once they are successfully, they can take their customers for a ride all the time. But they fail to understand that the very middle class people which helped their business grow, will not only abandon them but also kick them, when they full understand that they are paying Rs. 90 for a Masal Dosa which should not cost more than Rs. 30-35. This will take time and till such time they HSB can happily continue with their day light robbery.
Or may be HSB management thinks that their hotels are for the NRI $ paying customers, and not for the local Rupee paying customers.
