Manre

Manre, which has good food, has very Unhappy hours. These so called Happy hours which are promoted as buy one get one free are a real rip off !

We ordered a glass of the wine and a cocktail. We then ordered for what we thought to be a free repeat. I ordered a different cocktail as the first one was a disaster. I checked with the waiter if it was ok to order a different second drink - which was actually cheaper than the first one. I was told "No problem".

We had a nice time - except when the bill came it was circa Rs 4000 for the drinks and a plate of three mini veg burgers !! We were charged for four drinks. When asked about the Happy Hours, the waiter smugly advised us that that the Happy Hours was for IMFL only. Whan I asked about the cocktails (The wine was New Zealand), I was advised that I had ordered two different drinks ! The waiters (there were more than one as the place was understandably empty and the only other table was occupied by the owner Ramola Batchan - other punters before us were no doubt wiser !) thay all had that "Got cha " look.

We paid and promised never to return.

For the price, we could have gone to any five star, had better drinks, in a nicer atmosphere. At these more decent and transparent establishments, we would have got what we paid for, better drinks and also an offer to change them if we disliked what was produced.

Moral of the story "Go to Manre if you have pots of money and no taste (except for IMFL) and don't care abour being ripped off"

xlnt place its realy unforgtble mmnt for me when i enter the rest wow!! wht a plznt welcome by a hndsme gntlemen, hhmm! his name is prakash, he told us tht the rest done by Bachchan famly, frst of all we took a round with tht gntlman, frst time in my life i have seen a single restaurant, whch got four defrnt section, MANRE, MAZA, MEZZE and the wonderfull bar, then we sittd to the restaurant calld MANRE,the mordern europian cuisine rest and the food was wow!!i nvr had tht kind of europian food it was fablss, we wanted giv comlimnt to the chef, and we ask to our server tht we wana see ur chef, and we came to know tht they hve done five month research for ther food, i thnk its a lot abt tht rest...
