Diva Restaurant

We decided to visit Diva on our anniversary, must say the food did nothing to add to the evening, au contraire...it was bad..the risotto was too salty, the cocktails misleading the portions small ...the only saving grace is the service which is gracious...not worth the money and praise bestowed upon it...avoid!

First things first.. never completely go by a newspaper/website review of a restaurant. Diva was made out to be the best Italian joint in Delhi in one of the reviews.. sadly that is not the case.

Diva is located in the popular GK 2- M blk market, easy to locate, easy parking.. we parked our car right outside the restaurant's gate. Service is quick and polite.. ambiance is just about ok, nothing out of this world. nice and simple.

and now the food.. The simple, two page menu card has exotic names (i guess all in pure Italian) and the taste is even more exotic. Diva is definitely not for the regular Italian food lovers.. You won't get the usual margarita pizzas or other 'conventional' stuff which is served in a regular Italian eatery.. The menu here is different.. Best part is.. there is 'ample' choice for a veggie. The bad part is that even though it may not sound veggie enough, the taste buds don't take to the veggies, goat cheese, cottage cheese etc, served raw, easily. Worse, the potions served are rather small.
And they charge you a BOMB for their service.. which is too high.
Sure, the Wine list is exhaustive and good but food is experimental and those looking for a pizza or a ravioli or a spaghetti may want to go back to Big Chill or elsewhere.

I went to Diva because I heard it was supposed to be a good Italian restaurant and wanted to eat some ravioli but was chocked to discover that their ravioli is stuffed with onions and NOT meat the way it is in Italy.

The pino noir whine was good.

The ambience was very simple and unsophisticated.

Great dine-in place with very good food, service and ambience. This is a formal sit-down dining exprience that will leave you asking for more!
The food is very good. Expensive but good. Go there if you want a good time with your family or with that special someone and if the experience and the food matters to you more than anything else.
