Good wholesome Punjabi cuisine. The decor tries to replicate a dhaba in parts and doesnt quite succeed but who cares - the service is quick & yummm food keeps you from nit-picking.
Don t be too picky about hygiene but then would you think about hygiene when you pig out in a dhaba...
The name is Kabul but the soul is kitsch North Indian. The dishes have nothing of the Peshawari flavour.
There is a uniform *Tandoori-from- a-satchet* taste in all the dishes.
The chicken gravy had too many bones, the biryani lacked character- it wasnt bad but didnt make an impression either.
As a *Northie* joint, it would just about scrape through but with the expectations built up by the name, it fails to deliver.
Desserts were gulab jamoon & gajar ka halwa. It doesnt get more *Northie* than this :-(
The title translates as Very good* in pidgin Spanish. Excuse my Spanish Senors & senoritas but rating this place as *very good* is an understatement.
As a Spanish tavern, this joint comes up trumps. The cock-tails are great, Tapas (finger food) is good, the main course is even better - do try their Blackened fish. For someone who doesnt like sea-food, I really loved it.
Music & ambience also - though not totally Iberian, are good.
Decent desserts as well. Does get rather crowded n noisy on week-end nights but given the dearth of hangout joints of its class in Chennai... its still a good choice.
This place deserves a 6. The menu is Tex-Mex and the food is consistently good, the service impreccable and decor and service strike the right note.
The valet parking is a boon in that area.
