They go a little easy on the lemon grass compared to an authentic oriental cuisine place - but that only helps in making the food taste better, in my opinion. Good, helpful service, nice ambience, and the total absence of a yuppie crowd works for this place.
Also, they have a good spread on offer for vegetarians too, and their cocktails are expertly mixed.
"Good choice for those not familiar with real South Indian food."
If your knowledge of South Indian cuisine is limited to Idli, Dosa, Chutney and Sambhar - then a visit to South Indies is very much in order.
A good spread of food items from across the southern states, and they don t do too badly on the taste-front either. The only place it could probably taste better are at the homes of your South Indian friends (whose mother still cooks the food :) )
